ARTIST STATEMENT:

"WEAVING PEACE THROUGH ART"

Art, harmony and peace, these are the driving forces in my artwork. The concept of weaving has been integrated in my work for over 35 years. Many artists search for that special technique, finished work or art. Working in metal has given me exactly what I have searched for. Painting on metal creates a rich glowing surface that draws you in with its internal energy, texture and colors. The luminous surface radiates the inner glow of the human soul as it weaves relationships with self, the environment and the world as symbols of our existence. I call it "Living Art, as it changes with the light from morning to night.

My current project,The Peace Prevails Project, is woven metal of many colors portraying diversity. Relationships are expressed as the varied pieces are woven. Embossed with words of "Peace" in many languages, resonating a universal desire for the lessening of hostility. It is my goal to maintain feelings of inner peace as I create the artwork thus passing on this feeling to others.

My intent is to live life as a prayer. It is my practice to meditate every day, practice Tai Chi and Chi Kung before going into the art studio to “play”.  I am so very grateful to live the life of an artist and thank everyone who has purchased my vibrational artwork. 

Over the span of my career, I have been in the process of combining my passion for art and my passion to help others using healing energies. When I honor my true self magical experiences occur.

The art training has been in studying with individual artists in Calif. and Washington, learning from every art teacher I could in the Bay Area Jr. Colleges, then attending California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, Calif.  Since we moved to Washington 17 years ago my studies have expanded. My resume is filled with awards, art shows in galleries and museums, but what fills my heart and soul is the continued experience of growing  through the creation of the art.

My healing training has been in becoming an Expressive Arts Coach , Ordained Minister AIWP , Shamballa/ Usui Reiki Master Teacher , Touch  Drawing with Deborah Koff-Chapin, Transpersonal Counselor, beginning Brain Gym training, Soul Recognition Facilitator, Facilitator for adjusting the energies of the earth, Painter of the colors of peoples' souls and more. I am always learning and expanding my knowledge of art and healing.
